2. VISEGRAD SYMPOSIUM  + AUSTRIA

Talented artists from the Visegrad countries (Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia) plus Austria will reside in the Český Krumlov studios of the  Egon Schiele Art Centrum during the autumn and create artworks on the theme of  “Art and the Everyday“. A selection of these works will be exhibited in the gallery from December 2011 till March 2012.

ART IN EVERYDAY LIFE
Installations and presentations by artists who add a new dimension to everyday objects through their inventiveness. They look for symbols of the age in them or create everyday objects out of unusual materials or, the other way round, use everyday objects in their art. The folloewing artists are preparing solo-exhibitions:

Regularly changing exhibitions of classical and 20th century contemporary art are on view alongside a permanent presentation on the life and work of Egon Schiele together with an exhibition of his works.

The centre makes an important contribution to international understanding and cultural exchange through activities such as readings, concerts and performances together with providing studios for artists from east and west.
